Apple announced support for cameras at HomeKit during WWDC 2019. The function will securely store recorded video for 10 days on an iCloud disk without reducing the disk limit. However, you need to purchase the 200GB plan to support one camera or 2TB to support up to five cameras.
HomeKit Secure Video has not debuted yet, despite the release of iOS 13, but it may happen soon. The video found on the iPad in one of the Apple Store shows how camera support will look in the Home application. Of course this is a demo version.
Take a look at the recording and judge for yourself if it's a simple and intuitive menu. In my opinion, it looks promising and easy to use.
